Quality self catering farmhouse accommodation on Exmoor
Church
Farm is a beautifully preserved National
Trust farmhouse tucked away in an idyllic rural
location near Dunkery Beacon in a beautiful part of Exmoor
National Park.
It is situated at the head of the East Water and is surrounded
by open moorland where wild red deer and Exmoor
ponies roam freely. A
walkers' paradise on Exmoor. The farmhouse is just below the
little 13th century church at Stoke
Pero and faces a cluster of immaculately maintained
stone barns.
Church Farm is close to the spectacular North
Devon Coast and beaches and surrounded by beautiful
heather clad moorland - a wonderful sight in the Autumn.
Try an Exmoor Safari with Barle
Valley Safaris and visit seldom frequented tracks
and ancient bye-ways seeking out the elusive Red Deer and the
famous Exmoor Ponies in their natural habitat with your knowledgeable
local Exmoor guide Daphne. Learn about the local wildlife, history,
local tales and the farming practices of Exmoor. See the Exmoor
stags at rutting time in the autumn
The
picturesque village of Porlock
leading to Porlock Hill is nearby also the picturesque hamlet
of Porlock Weir,
once a busy port and fishing village. The medieval village of
Dunster and Dunster
Castle and the pretty seaside town of Minehead
are about 9 miles away.
The surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Putsborough in
North Devon and the Doone Valley aren't too far
away for a great day out.
During
your stay pay a visit to the nearby National
Trust properties of Dunster Castle, Arlington
Court near Barnstaple and Knightshayes Court near Tiverton for
an enjoyable day out.
We are close to the South West Coastal Path and the end of the
